FAQ About Volunteering

Q. Is there a minimum or maximum number of volunteer hours to complete?
A. No. We are interested in consistency, whether you volunteer one hour per month, two hours per week, each year at the Fair, etc.

Q. Why do you need my social security number to volunteer?
A. The Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area is dedicated to offering a safe place for children; therefore, we require a background check for all volunteers who are working with our members. We must have your social security number to complete a background check.

Q. Is there a limit to how long I can volunteer?
A. No. We have volunteers who have been with us for many years.

Q. Where would I volunteer?
A. We have many opportunities available here at the Club as well as offsite where we hold special events. If there is a specific event that you would like to volunteer for just let us know.

Q. What will I do as a volunteer?
A. This depends on what you are volunteering for. We have many volunteer opportunities both in and out of the club.
