Endowment Campaign

A HISTORY OF DEVELOPING GREAT FUTURES.
The need for great futures is more important than ever and the Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area is here to respond.

The Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area has been enabling our members to grow from fun-loving, eager-to-learn children into productive, caring, responsible citizens since 1970. From the very beginning, we've been working to provide youth of all economic and racial backgrounds a safe place to learn and grow. Today, the Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area touches the lives of nearly 1000 children annually.

Our programs and activities are purposeful, coordinated and designed to advance childrens' academic success, character and healthy lifestyles. Members form ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals while interacting and having fun with friends their own age. Most importantly, being part of the Boys & Girls Club provides children hope and opportunity.

OUR GREAT NEED.
The facility where the Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area was formerly housed was built as a highway building for Brown County, through the Works Project Administration, in 1940. The space is inadequate for use as a youth facility and often times the area is cramped and either too warm or too cold. Structural issues also continue to be dealt with. Being out of compliance with the American with Disabilities Act means that we had no choice but to turn away those with physical handicaps.

CHARTING A COURSE.
The Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area Board of Directors launched a capital campaign to raise funds to replace our outdated, inadequate location with a safer, modern facility that will serve the children of our community for years to come.

* At approximately 30,000 square feet, the new facility will almost double the current space
* The number of members comfortably served will increase from 200 to 350 daily; the number of lives touched indirectly is exponential
* Program offerings will increase in quantity and quality, with the addition of physical space and expanded staff

The campaign, officially launched in 2012, seeks to raise $5.2 million in charitable contributions. Gifts to the campaign will be received in the form of cash, appreciated securities and assets that can be readily converted to cash. Gifts may be pledged and given over a pledge period and on a timetable convenient to the donor. Various naming and memorial gift opportunities are also available.

OUR LEADERSHIP.
After an extensive feasibility study showed that a plan to build a new facility was within reach, our Board of Directors has selected leaders from our community who believe strongly in our fundraising efforts. Kerry & Sandy Swingler and Eldon & Janine Swingler have been chosen as Co-Chairs and are generously donating their time and talents.

The Boys & Girls Club of Aberdeen Area's Capital Funds Campaign is now in full motion and we are receiving a great response from area leaders. But there is still work to do! You can be a part of this wonderful success story and create a legacy for you, your family or your business that will last for generations.
